Come learn the art of blacksmithing in historic downtown Washington, GA. Certified artist blacksmith Patrick Blount is now offering classes in basic blacksmithing at the Greenhow Handmade Ironworks, LLC shop located at 123 North Jefferson Street. All blacksmith classes will focus on a particular project that the student should be able to finish in the day’s course, all while learning basic blacksmithing processes. Classes are open to students 13 years of age and older. Students under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the release for them. Classes start at 10:00 AM and run to around 5:00 PM with a 1 hour lunch break. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the shop. All courses include all materials and tools. However, if you own your own tools, please feel free to bring them so you can practice working with your own tools.
What to bring
WEAR PROPER ATTIRE.
The shop is not air-conditioned or heated so dress according to the weather outside. Do not wear loose fitting garments, gloves, jewelry, watches, ties, ID badges or anything else dangling that might get caught in a piece of moving equipment. Long hair should be secured for student safety.
HOW TO GET HERE
All classes are at the Greenhow Handmade Ironworks building located at 123 North Jefferson St

The easiest way is to go to Fievet’s Drug Store located at 115 E Robert Toombs Ave, Washington, GA 30673 the Greenhow Handmade Ironworks building is the big brick building at the back of the parking lot. You can park there in the back of Fievet’s by our building.
CANCELLATIONS/REFUND POLICY
All classes are NON REFUNDABLE. Students that need to cancel a class must do so 10 days before the class to receive credit towards a future class. Failure to do so will result in student forfeiting all fees paid. Please contact us with any questions about this policy before you register foe a class.
GROUPS AND PRIVATE CLASSES
We can host groups of 4 to 12 people. Making a variety of projects, so before your next birthday, anniversary or bachelor party. Give us a call to book your spot!! Or if you would like one on one instruction please call for private lesson rates.
